LuLu AND THE LIZARD / DON'T FEAR YOUR GIANTS!

A few days ago I was outside with our cat LuLu. She loves to get outdoors where all her senses come alive with the sights, sounds and smells all around her. I sat in a lawn chair and lovingly watched over her. Suddenly she seemed to notice something on or near our garden shed. She crouched down low to the ground and ever so slowly inched her way towards the shed. I looked at the shed but noticed nothing. Suddenly she broke into a run and I saw a brown lizard scamper up the corner of the shed as it ran for its life. LuLu jumped at it and it fell to the ground. I saw her pawing at it for awhile and then she came towards me holding the poor thing in her mouth. A few feet from my chair she dropped it and began tormenting it by pawing at it now and then. I yelled at her to either kill it or leave it alone. Wanting to get a better look I got up and went over to where they were. As I looked down I saw what looked like a brown lizard with a pink petal in its mouth. Then I realized it was the pink lining of his wide open mouth...open so wide I thought his jaw came unhinged. This must be the last ditch effort of a lizard in full defense mode....an attempt to show how big and unafraid he was of this giant cat 60 times bigger than he was (just guessing as have no idea of what an accurate lizard to cat ratio might be). He was not discouraged by the enormous odds that were before him and I was impressed by this.
Then I called to my husband to come and see. I expressed concern for the embattled lizard to John who came out and asked why didn't I just pick up the lizard and put him outside the yard. I explained my left knee made it difficult to fully stoop down. Then like some huge Deliverer God he reached down, picked up the lizard and put it atop the fence post. Wondering if it was still alive, he nudged it gently and it sprang off the post to the ground outside the yard.
What about you? How do you deal with the Giants in your life...do you run or stand your ground, making the scariest face you can conjure up, not backing down no matter the odds. As John rescued the brave lizard I believe our God will also rescue us in the day of trouble if we believe.
